I’m not saying that “this video is too easy” but the fact that I knew everything she was saying made me really happy, it just comes to show that the more you practice the better you’ll remember it. I knew this video was going to be slightly easy but I watched it anyways and I’m glad I did.
For everyone reading this I wish you the bestest of luck in your journey, and right now it may seem hard but trust me you’ll get it sooner than you think. ☺️✨

People, stop complaining about it being “too basic”. This video is perfect for someone like me who needs these kinds of lessons. Not everyone will get use out of it, but some will. Understand that.

Yes you are right but I think “ありがとうございます” will be more suitable here as its an online platform and we don’t really know anyone here. You are doing well as an absolute beginner.

Here’s a tip for people who wants to study Japanese. Before going into grammar, i recommended you to memorize a bunch of vocabulary first, it makes learning the grammar a lot easier and smoother.
I would recommend around 5,000 vocabularies for you to memorize.
Dont worry, Japanese vocabularies are usually easy as there are lots of English loan words. Like パイロット(pilot)、トイレ(toilet)

Thank you!! I’m self teaching myself Japanese, finished learning Hiragana and Katakana months and months ago, and has been continuously working on kanji and sentence structure/grammar. This has really helped! Its simple, and it shows how they work and it shows other ones along with to what to place when building a sentence. I’ve been confused for the longest time ever about sentence structure! It seemed so difficult. Now I’m able to understand how to make my own sentences!

Thank you so much this helped me alot but i do have a question. When pronouncing す is it silent sometimes ?like in ちがいます。 In the end why is it pronounced mas instead of masu?

Why is everyone complaining that it’s ‘too basic’? It literally says it in the title that it’s just the basics. Just because it’s too ‘basic’ for you doesn’t mean that it’s useful. Sometimes it’s good to revisit the basics, so stop complaining. If it’s too easy for you, go onto one of the numerous intermediate videos on YouTube. People like me appreciate these videos that go over the basics, so stop calling them useless. They’re not.

@Eduardo Wada you know what? there are loads of videos out there that is beyond basics. since you already know the basics, then go to anothet video. stop complaining about a video containing basic words when it literally says “basic”

that’s it!!! you’ve upset us otaku gamers!!! we will wage war on you!!!

Jokes aside, it probably is the otaku gamer types that fetishize Japanese culture and love looking down on others due to their own insecurities. Don’t mind them.

This is by far the most educational channel I encountered. The Japanese lessons they teach here are so informative. This channel is the best!

You guys are doing so good in teaching Japanese the easiest way possible. You are making me learn Japanese grammar, kanji and etc so fast!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You would probably use “Boku wa” instead of “Watashi wa” since the first one is (usually) for males and watashi can be used by anyone. Or if you are really feeling macho, you can use “Ore wa” instead of “Boku wa”. However, “Ore” is not very polite, IIRC.

Agreed. When a video uses both kana and romaji, I usually default to reading the romaji because I’m obviously better at reading it, but I’d much rather get better at reading the kana, so the fact that all the phrases are written in kana (and kanji) is actually really helpful.
Also, if you haven’t learned them yet, I’d highly recommend it. Learning the kana is incredibly helpful, in my opinion. Not only do you know how to read a lot of Japanese, but you also learn how the language is structured and it helps so much with pronounciation.
Plus, they’re not that hard to learn. I learned hiragana and katakana each in less than a day. Obviously, I was still really slow but I was able to read and write all of the characters and understood Japanese much better on a steuctural level, so again, I really recommend learning them first.
This channel has a really useful series/long video for both. There are also really useful apps that can help.

Honestly, my dad picked up Japanese’s from watching dramas (I do to and I speak japanese) but he can’t read (same for me). Luckily I be been watching since I was 5, so I’m pretty fluent

I think I’m really starting to understand this whole pitch accent thing in Japanese. Like, when they said “hajimemashite”, I could hear the low and high pitches. It sounded like [ha – JI – ME – ma – sh’ – TE]. Also, I’m starting to notice that, for certain moras ending in ‘i’ or ‘u’ sounds, when these are pronounced in low pitch, they become into what many English speakers would recognise as a schwa. Meaning, they sort of “disappear”. It’s really rather fascinating. I plan to start learning Mandarin Chinese in two weeks and, hopefully, recognising Japanese pitch accent will lead to recognising and emulating Mandarin Chinese tones.
